What does an Electrical Engineer Do?

Designing and developing new electrical equipment, testing equipment, and solving problems are the primary duties of an electrical engineer. From smallest pocket equipment to large supercomputers, they deal with all kind of electronic devices.

What does an electrical Engineer do

Electrical engineering deals with electronics, electromagnetism, and electricity. It also controls signal processing, control systems, power, and telecommunications. Dealing with large-scale electrical systems is the main responsibility of these engineers.

These systems may include power transmission, and motor control, as well transmitting energy with the help of electricity. There is a wide range of technologies where electrical engineers may work such as lighting and wiring telecommunications, satellite communications, and electrical power stations.

What does an electrical Engineer do

They can sketch ideas by hand or they can also take help from computer-aided software to plan their designs.

Electrical Engineers work with different kinds of projects, such as robots, radars, cards, navigation systems, cell phones, lighting and wiring in buildings, computers and other types of electrical systems.

Electrical engineers define the abilities of the new electronics before starting out a project. Then they use the computer to design the parts and circuits of the electronics. Then they test the product after creating a prototype. Most products have some bugs initially that need to be fixed. The electrical engineers must make the product work by pointing out the problem.

What does an electrical Engineer do

Electrical engineering has many sub-disciplines. Some electrical engineers specialize in a combination of sub-disciplines, while others specialize in one sub-discipline.

Microelectronics Engineer

Dealing with the design and microfabrication of small electronic circuit elements is the duty of a microelectronics engineer.

Power Engineer

Dealing with electricity and designs of relevant electrical equipment like generators, motors, transformers, and power electronics, is the duty of this engineer.

Electronic Engineer

Dealing with electronic circuits like capacitors, transistors, inductors, resistors, and diodes is the duty of this engineer.

Signal Processing Engineer

Dealing with digital and analog signals is the responsibility of this engineer.

Telecommunications Engineer

This engineer is responsible for dealing with transmission of information via optical fiber or cable.

Computer Engineer

Responsibilities include dealing with computers and computer hardware.
