What do Architects do?
An architect draws plans and pictures using computer software. They must be aware of building codes, zoning laws, state boards laws, and other regulations. They first discuss with client to find out their needs such as objectives, requirements, and budget of a project and then create drawings for the client to review and approval. They will supervise construction plans and answer details questions for its construction.
How to Become an Architect?
If you are interested in a career as an architect, you need to prepare for yourself to get a degree in architecture. It takes you 5 years from accredited universities to get a bachelor in architecture. In order to stamp or put your signature in the drawings, you must earn a professional degree (PE).
How Much Do Architects Earn?
According to BLS, architects earned between $49,780 and $83,450 a year in 2006. The lowest-paid 10 percent earned less than $39,420. The highest-paid 10 percent earned more than $104,970 a year.
